Diplopia is a distressing symptom that can greatly compromise a patient’s quality of life. This course reviews the causes of diplopia and various ergonomic, prism, lens, vision therapy, surgical, and drug-oriented management options.

This course presents the historic and scientific background of tonometry followed by a review of recent technologic breakthroughs in intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement. Included are case studies and citations of research papers that compare IOP measurements using traditional versus new technology. The condition of dry eye arguably affects more of our patients than any other ocular disease, but it is elusive and difficult to manage. This article discusses the etiology, diagnosis, and management of dry eyes.

Although prevalence studies suggest that more than 2 million Americans have glaucoma, it is estimated that about one million of them do not know it.(1) This is in large part because the most common type of glaucoma, primary open angle glaucoma, has no symptoms and only very subtle signs early in its course.
